Wilson's School 11 plus exam format

Wilson's School uses the Sutton Selective Eligibility Test (SET), which is taken in the September of Year 6. The SET is made up of two papers, both consisting of multiple-choice questions:

  1. English (40-50 minutes)

  2. Maths (40-50 minutes)

These papers are based on the Key Stage 2 national curriculum and do not include verbal reasoning or non-verbal reasoning questions.

Students who pass the SET are then required to take an additional School Admission Standard test which is written by the school itself. This consists of two written papers in English and maths (no multiple-choice questions).

How to prepare for Wilson's School 11 plus

It’s a good idea to begin preparing as early as possible to give your child enough time to master all the content needed for the 11 plus. Starting early will reduce the amount of pressure on your child, and give them the best opportunity to succeed on test day.

Once your child has practised the 11 plus material, you then move on to online mock tests, so they can practice their exam technique and get to grips with the format of an 11 plus test from home.
